List of devices

1. List of devices
This table lists all the devices defined on the Sap-Scale Service.
 
The following functions are available in the table:
  • Activate or deactivate a device. A deactivated device is not available to the application and will not be considered in licence activation.
  • Change the device type (future functionality)
  • Change the weighing method (future functionality)
 
The context menu can be used to:
  • Copy an exiting device
  • Rename a device

  • A deactivated device is not available to the application and will not be considered in licence activation.

Device name

3. Device name
The name of the device. Also the scale name in SAP.

Communication port

4. Communication port
The port for connection to the device.

Device type

5. Device type
The type of device used for controlling default communication settings and available commands.

Weighing method

6. Weighing method
Selected added functionality for this device. E.g. target weighing.

Licence number

7. Licence number
The licence number allocated to this device.

Licence password

The password used to activate the licence.

Create Device

Click to create a new device. See Add a new device.

Import device settings from a file

10. Import device settings from a file
Use this to load the settings previously stored. The existing settings for the selected device will be overwritten.

Export device settings to a file

Use this button to save the settings for the selected device to a file.

Delete device

Select one or more devices in the table and click delete.
Warning: Devices are deleted immediately and there is no undo function.

Communication settings

13.  Communication settings
Click this button to define the communication settings for the device. The communications settings include serial port, TCP communication, handshaking, requesting and receiving.

Parsing settings

Select a device and click to enter parsing settings. The parsing settings control how the data string from the device is mapped to the fields returned to the application (e.g. SAP).

Update Sap-Scale Service with changes

15.  Update Sap-Scale Service with changes
Click this to update the Sap-Scale Service with any changes to the device settings.

Load devices

16.  Load devices
This will reload the settings for valid devices from the Sap-Scale Service. Any changes that have not been saved will be overwritten.

Device licence

Click to define and verify the licence number for the device.

Messages

Click to display any messages from mass updates.
